Born as Leonie Mathilde, but better known as 'Tilly', I spent my first 25 years in the Northern Hemisphere of this world in a country where approximately 20% lies below sea level and my birthday was often celabrated with throwing snowballs at friends or ice-skating. on deep frozen canals. As such the picture above..I grew up in Amsterdam, better known for the red-light districts and legalised use of marihuana, but also the town of Anne Frank, the Vincent
van Gogh museum and football club Ajax, Having studied physiotherapy I was able to migrate to Australia and fulfill my dream of living "in the country".. Have never looked back.. |
After working as a physiotherapist in a hospital setting, private practice and community health I started work at Wodonga TAFE teaching in the certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance course five years ago. I hope students have learned as much from me over the past years as I have from them. The different ways of teaching, compared to when I studied physiotherapy, and the victory when struggling students succeed.

This blog documents my travels through yet another course, because yes, I do enjoy studying and learning new things. Things like creating this blog, something a would not have done without external stimulation. This blog contains lots of reflections about this learning journey and poster making but also about teaching and learning in general. Such a celebration to learn new skills.

Feeling my way through the darkness
Guided by a beating heart
I can't tell where the journey will end
But I know where to start
"Wake Me Up" (Avicii)
