For EDGCT5008 Negotiated Task I have chosen to use the Moodle platform as a support to the face-to-face delivery in the physiotherapy assistance classroom to allow students extra opportunity to access extra reading, access demonstrations as many times they would like or need to and have all materials attached to this cluster at their fingertips. It also allows me to adjust not only my delivery but also the learning activities associated with this cluster and as such make better use of the limited face-to-face time I have. I also decided on this task as I have never developed a unit or units on Moodle but always wanted to. There was no better opportunity or time than now. In her book ‘Preparing for Blended eLearning’ Littlejohn (2007, P. 47) states that “blending can too easily be seen as the conservative approach to eLearning, the least challenging route and one that results in little significant change”. This is especially the case if content is just ‘dumped’ on the Moodle platform without any thought of where it fits in in the delivery. Like the face-to-face part of my delivery, this Moodle support is deliberately devised to make the teaching journey more complete for the student.
My initial proposal for this Negotiated Task can be found using the Proposal button below and my full reflection can be found by clicking on the Reflection button.

Explanation of puzzle picture above
- I felt that all assessment tasks associated with the EDGCT5008 and the Ballarat February forum were pieces in a puzzle, with the negotiated task being the central piece: Flow Therapy, Learning & Teaching Online, Gardner’s MI, Padagogy Wheel, Photo-story and the Learning Theories could not be seen in isolation and all played a role and had input in my negotiates task. My decisions on how to set up the Physiotherapy Assistance units on Moodle have all been influenced by the information provided and knowledge gained whilst doing the other
parts.
I have tried to explain this in more detail in my reflection and I would urge you to have a read. Thank you.
Multiple Intelligences in the classroom
It is important for an Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to know human biomechanics, certain medical and directional terminology asociatred with physiotherapy as well as have a good knowledge of the muscles, the joints they move and the movements they cause. All this information is in the workbook associated with this module (linguistic) and on Moodle in the form of video clips (visual). The photo beside shows the students working together (interpersonal) on puzzles (visual) associated with the above topic, or doing them by themselves (intrapersonal), whilst being able to move about as well (bodykinaesthetic). They may have a directional term on one piece of paper and need to find the correct description on another piece of paper (logic).
The students found this a great way of developing a better understanding of biomechanis, the muscles and directional terminology instead of trying to rote learn and memorise is. They all asked for a copy of the activity so they could do them at home as well.
